Pacific Mexico

The Moon series of handbooks set a standard. This is one of my favorites, perhaps because it covers one of my favorite parts of Mexico. It never led me astray; Bruce Whipperman knows the Pacific side of this country as well as any gringo and presents in an engaging and meaningful way. Includes Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Lake Chapala, Sayulita, Manzanillo, Ixtapa.

Baja

This majestic place is an truly amazing - you can find that out without a guidebook - but if you really want see it (it is the world's largest peninsula after all) you need a seasoned guide. This is the cheaper alternative to hiring locally. Don't leave home without it. Covers La Paz, Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo, Todos Santos, Mulege, Loreto, San Felipe, Santa Rosalia, Ensenada.

Guadalajara
